Abosso Gold Fields Ghana Limited Vacancy: Superintendent – Procurement

Purpose of the job:
Gold Fields Ghana Limited is seeking to employ an experienced and self motivated person to fill the above position. The incumbent will apply acquired knowledge and experience in the mining industry to assist in ensuring the implementation of a highly effective Supply Chain system.

Reporting to the Supplies Manager, the Superintendent will be responsible and accountable for:

• Implementation, evaluation and effective utilisation of ordering, tracking and expediting systems
• Plan and manage the procurement process and logistics of supplies
• Identify, adjudicate and recommend potential suppliers/vendors as well as supplier/vendor contracts
• Drafting of pro-forma contracts where required
• Monitor and manage stock levels
• Ensure availability of critical and high value stock items
• Procure materials at appropriate quality and cost
• Make recommendations on material and material quality
• Maintain and build professional and ethical relations with suppliers and relevant internal and external stakeholders
• Adherence to legal requirements, supply chain policies and procedures
• Review supply chain policies and procedures and recommend changes for improvement aligned with future operational requirements
• Optimal service delivery according to Service Level Agreements with clients on site
• Implementation of systems that supports supply chain needs of operations
• Ad hoc projects and exercises
• Unit cost control
• Skilled, trained and motivated people to do the work
