Job Description
Tarkwa Goldmine is seeking to employ an experienced, self motivated Human Resource Practitioner who will assist Human Resources in ensuring that HR systems, processes, policies, procedures and agreements are in place and aligned with operational requirements. Key to this position is liaison with Line Management, Organised Labour and relevant administrators of other departments in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of HR services.
Key Responsibilities:
As a senior member of the Tarkwa Human Resources team, key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the alignment of operational Human Resources processes with the Ghana Human Resource strategy and best practice
- Ensuring that best caliber individuals are attracted to the operation and retained through the execution of a well established talent management strategy
- Drive performance management of all employees development and training to ensure a pipeline of ready competent successers
- Accountable for recruitment of labour, placement, Labour complements and staffing
- Ensuring sound and healthy Industrial Relations practices on the mine
- To ensure that Wage and service Agreements are implemented as intended
- Ensuring that appropriate HR methodologies and processes are in place to give the desired effect as well as to ensure continuous improvements
- The management of effective and integrated HR systems that are continuously improved
- Analyse trends and provide professional advisory service and/or recommendations thereof to management
- Supervision of subordinates in ensuring that set targets and objectives are achieved
- Liaising with Organised labour and relevant officials of other departments in order to ensure that HR services are delivered in an efficient and timely manner
Required Skills or Experience
- Must have a relevant tertiary qualification/degree in Human Resources or related field
- Must be a seasoned HR practitioner with a minimum of 2 to 3 years proven experience at the appropriate level
- Must have the ability to understand all HR business processes
- Must be assertive with sound negotiation skills within a unionized environment
- Must have well developed oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and all levels within the organization
- Must have the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with organised Labour
- Must maintain the highest level of professionalism and drive change from the front
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Knowledge of the Ghanaian Labour Relations Act, other applicable mining Labour legislation and best practise principles
- A valid current light duty vehicles license and proficiency in driving a light vehicle
- Working knowledge of HR SAP Systems and Microsoft Office products such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point
- Working knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) Auditing systems and Controls
- Medically fit for the position and environment
2. Human Resources Officer – C4
Job Description
Purpose of Job:
The Human Resources Department of Tarkwa Mine is seeking to employ an experienced and self motivated individual who will manage the Human Resource needs and ensuring that HR systems are developed, implemented and maintained. The person will also liaise with relevant officials of other departments to ensure efficient and timely delivery of HR services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Human Resource needs
- Employee Relations including Discipline and Grievance handling
- Ensuring that periodic reports meets set time frames and targets
- Ensuring that HR systems are developed, implemented and maintained
- Supervision of subordinates in ensuring that set targets and objectives are achieved
- Keeping abreast with applicable legislature and HR best practices
- Executing daily routine work in accordance with policies and procedures within prescribed guidelines
- Liaising with relevant officials of other departments in order to ensure that HR services are delivered on time
Required Skills or Experience
- A recognized tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or related field
- Knowledge of SAP and HR PERSOL Systems
- At least 3 years experience in a similar position or job
- Well developed oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point
- Medical fitness for the position and environment
- A valid and current light duty vehicle license and proficiency in driving a light vehicle
