Job Vacancy:

New Business Development/Technical Support Officer




The West Africa Regional office (WARO) of ACDI/VOCA based in Accra Ghana, opened in 2007, seeks to provide an increasing level of support services for ACDI/VOCA in the sub region in all areas where we have the technical expertise, as mobilization from the WARO allows us to respond more quickly and appropriately with skilled resources than we can from HQ. ACDI/VOCA now has ongoing programs in Mali, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana.

The NBD/TSO will report to the WAO Regional Manager and work closely with the New Business Development Team at the ACDI/VOCA headquarters, the incumbent will identify priority countries for new business development in the WA region.

  • Establish and maintain contact with USAID missions and other development partners funding programs for which ACDI/VOCA or ASI is eligible to bid.
  • Communicate with HQ Portfolio and New Business Development teams to establish pipeline for WA region.
  • Modify and/or develop training materials in French and English for ASI in value chain, market analyses, and in farmer organization capacity building.
  • Deliver ToT for regional ACDI/VOCA and ASI staff in market analyses and value chain assessments.
  • Lead field analyses and assessments.


Required Skills or Experience

  • Masters in agricultural specialty, economics, international development, MBA or development related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing agricultural and rural development programs in a developing countries
  • Experience in developing successful proposals for USAID procurements and other donor agencies
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English and French
  • High level proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft windows including MS Project, and Excel
