Job Description

African Underground Mining Services Pty Ltd (AUMS), currently West Africa’s largest and leading trackless underground mining contractor is seeking to recruit qualified Maintenance Supervisors for its Akwaaba Underground Project at Chirano in the Western Region of Ghana.

Reports to: Site Manager

Remuneration/Other Packages:

Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience
Meals provided whilst on site
Travel provided to and from work
Person recruited must be prepared to do a work roster of 6 days on duty and 3 days off duty however this is subject to change depending on company requirement
Location: Site based – Akwaaba Underground Mine, Chirano, Western Region, Ghana

Required Skills or Experience

Must have a good Tertiary Education in Mechanical/Motor Vehicle Engineering from a recognised Institution
Minimum of 5 years working experience as a Supervisor in a large industrial workshop
Must have the ability to communicate effectively in oral English and be able to read/interpret Technical drawings on machines, parts and specifications
Must have good working experience on the maintenance of Heavy Earthmoving Equipment and Mine Machinery
Must be a computer literate with a background working knowledge of the Ghanaian Mines Act & Explosives Regulations
Must have excellent work ethic and be fit to work long hours in a very challenging environment
Must have knowledge of Environmental Responsibilities of ISO14001, Job Safety Analysis, Site Induction and Incident/Accident Reporting
Must possess a valid Ghanaian Professional Driver’s License
