The African University College of Communications(AUCC) is recruiting qualified persons for the following position
Job Description
Job Title: Director of Corporate Communication
Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for liaising and implementing University Public Relations
• Create and implement programs to enhance positive perception of the University by its constituents
• Build and strengthen relationships with print and electronic media
• Coordinate University – wide events, such as media conference, dedications, ground breaks, presidential inauguration and black-tie dinner
• Develop systems and procedures for efficient operation of the Public Relations Unit of the college
• Devise and implement targeted public affairs plans for the University and its centers
• Schedule interviews with the president and deans
• Produce public affairs report as needed. Write news releases, media alert, editorials, public service announcement, audiovisual scripts, and speeches
• Supervise design and the regular posting activities on AUCC website
• Work closely with the Vice President, F&A to develop crisis communication plans and to issue statements to the media during crisis situations
• Represent the University at community events and on professional boards
• Oversight over the admissions office
• Responsible for developing a marketing plan to support admissions effects
• Responsible for achieving goals and objectives set for the admissions and communication offices
• Other duties are assigned by the Vice President
• Other duties are assigned by the President
Qualification Required & Experience
• A Masters Degree in Communication Studies or relevant qualification from a recognized tertiary institution
• A final professional qualification with IPR Ghana, CIMG or AAG and considerable experience in a tertiary institution
• A minimum of 5 years working experience in a tertiary institution
Competencies
• Computer literate
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage people
• Ability to supervise
• Knowledge and understanding of the Public Administration system
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Presentation skills
