Job Description

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

JOB PURPOSE: As QC Inspector within NOV’s Flexibles you will be responsible for representing NOV during the production of Steel Bend Restrictors (SBR) and will communicate progress and welding quality of SBRs. You will ensure the correct materials are available and verified with correct and approved certificates as well as manage the quality control according to the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). As QC Inspector you will communicate key stages of the production process to stakeholders of the business identifying corrective actions and making recommendations to ensure successful completion is reached according to quality and schedule.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Quality Control – special attention to all Hold and Witness pointed listed in the ITP
• Review and understanding of welding procedures
• Carry out inspections in accordance with access, supervision and safety instructions of HIT
• Produce and update detailed inspection documents and progress reports submitting to key stakeholders on a regular basis
• Verifying materials (Plate materials, Pipe materials, Bolts and nuts, paint, weld consumables)
• Ensure correct storage of materials and components
• Ensure NOV HSE requirements are implemented
• Ensure formal qualifications of welders, painters and NDT personnel is adequate
• Be familiar with required procedures and specifications pertaining to quality and the quality program
• Perform all duties accurately and responsible. Verify part and work order. Assist shop, assembly and personnel in determining causes for faulty material or assemblies
• May require off-site duties
• Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager.

SKILLS, TRAINING OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:

• Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook).
• Able to interpret engineering documents and technical specifications to API, EN, ISO standards
• Proficient in written and spoken technical English

• Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
• Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
