Job Title 1: Site Coordinator (Contract)

Mission:
The successful candidate will have responsibility over the day to day running of the contract to ensure the fleet meets all specified KPI’s agreed between the customer and Altas Copco.

  • Setting up of site structure
  • Setting up of contract administration and processes
  • Management of all local site personnel in the contract
  • Recruitment of all site local personnel
  • Starting up of equipment
  • Implementing and supporting the maintenance and operator training programs
  • Managing the technical support
  • Managing the trouble shooting program
  • Coordinating administration of all warranty claims
  • Coordinating the planning of the work schedule via IQ and site system for the customer
  • Participating in the ADS technical service group and attend regular factory updates 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience leading a technically-oriented team with diverse personalities and backgrounds
  • A University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution of higher learning

Knowledge Requirements:

  • MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Good understanding of open pit applications and rotary drilling techniques
  • Strong communication and people management skills

Personality Requirements:

  • The selected candidate must have excellent leadership, relationship building, interpersonal and organizational skills coupled with a positive attitude and commitment to all areas of service operations
  • Must be a good team player who is results-oriented and customer-centric

Job Title 2: Site Supervisor (Contract)

Mission:
The Site Supervisors will be tasked with ensuring that shift maintenance is  conducted within the required parameters for Legal requirements, Safety and Environments requirements, Maintenance and Production Performance requirements, Quality requirements and Financial limits.

  • Adhere to environment, health and safety programmes and requirements
  • Supervise maintenance team
  • Plan and schedule tasks and activities
  • Oversee tasks and activities
  • Ensure maintenance standards are adhered to
  • Manage the relationship between Atlas Copco and the client to the benefit of both companies
  • Ensure that Atlas Copco complies with the signed agreement between Atlas Copco and the clients
  • Enforce Atlas Copco policies and guidelines are described in “The Way We Do Things”
  • Maintain high quality of service delivered by Atlas Copco under all circumstances
  • Ensure that all employees in area of responsibility maintain a high ethical standard
  • Coach and train staff
  • Maintain good morale among all employees
  • Efficiently manage the atlas Copco labour’s variable compensation
  • Compile and submit monthly reports to Atlas Copco and the client
  • Responsible for workshop vehicles, plant, tools and machinery
  • Drive for process improvement
  • Control stock and non-stick supplies
  • Report at required intervals about team performance and other agreed parameters
  • Ensure good housekeeping & cleanliness of the workshop and storage area
  • Be responsible and accountable for all work designated within area of responsibility
  • Report any contraventions of standards, Legal requirements or procedures as well as health and safety hazards to immediate supervisor after he has done all that are reasonably possible to rectify the situation
  • Ensure that all subordinates and contractors working in his area of responsibility are appointed and that all subordinates and contractor personnel are competent to carry out their duties and all machinery and equipment used by the contractors conform to the mine standard and procedures
  • The proper record keeping of all work done in logbooks provided for all machinery and equipment in his area
  • Keep record and report breakdowns, call-outs, spares usage etc. for all equipment in his area of responsibility and for the interest of continual condition monitoring purposes. Assist the Maintenance planner in compiling reports and feedback to the maintenance planning system
  • All hazards must be identified in his section and remedial measures drawn up and implemented to eliminate accidents incident (All accidents incidents in his section must be reported to his immediate supervisor without delay)
  • He must adhere to all relevant Policies and Procedures, Engineers Instructions, Engineer’s Work Practices, Codes of Practices and Engineering Standards pertaining to his area of responsibility
  • Hold safety meetings with all his sub-ordinates daily and also after an accident incident in his section
  • Schedule leaves for all his sub-ordiantes
  • Plan weekend work for subordinates and parade the correct people for a specific job
  • Diligently execute all projects given to him
  • The respective personnel must be conversant with electricity in his area of responsibility
  • He must complete the times sheets correctly and submit them to the time administration when required
  • He will be responsible for the recognized on-the-job safety of subordinates reporting to him
  • Ensure that PPE is worn during all tasks
  • Manage damage reporting and invoicing on machines 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in mining industry
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Interpersonal Skills & Problem solving skills (formal training)
  • Team leadership skills and teamwork control
  • Relevant experience in maintaining a trackless mining fleet
  • Project planning and execution
  • Report writing skills
  • Valid driver’s Ghanaian licence Class C & E
  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Good product knowledge
  • Good understanding the Production process
  • Project planning and execution
  • Computer literate in MS Word and Excel

Personality Requirements:

  • Be presentable to clients in grooming and dress code

Job Title 3: Site Technicians (Contract)

Atlas Copco Ghana Limited has fantastic opportunities for resilient, self motivated, and high achievers who are interested in further strengthening their niche in the above area. Position will be based at the customer site in Tarkwa.

Mission:
These positions are responsible for the resolution of technical issues and technical training through close cooperation with the Site Coordinator and end users. Provide high quality communication, technical support, training material and warrantly claim processing for the related products.

  • Communicate service and other relevant activities to the Site Shift Supervisor through daily service reports or appropriate medium i.e. e-mail and telephone communications
  • Provide on site technical support in the form of troubleshooting
  • Provide parts information to the Maintenance Planner and Site Shift Foreman for repairs and to customers as needed
  • Provde warrantly support as required, assisting in the determination of failures, and possible causes
  • Maintain, repair and troubleshoot numerous types of equipment as supplied by Atlas Copco, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, drive systems and diesel engines
  • Provide training on equipment operation and maintenance procedures for the start up of new equipment
  • Monitor equipment that is in use with customers, provide audits of equipment for future repairs and keep in reliable state at all times
  • Help develop solutions to local problems
  • Ensuring the proper handling of all testing and repairs tools
  • Knowledge of Atlas Copco surface drills or Hitachi/Komatsu/Caterpillar and Earth moving equipment useful  

Required Skills or Experience

  • At least three (3) years relevant post-qualification experience in Field Service. Preference will be given to those who have worked on either Atlas Copco surface drills or Hitachi/Caterpillar/Komatsu excavators or surface drill rigs
  • Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive, Engineering, Electrical or Agricultural Engineering

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Must have a significant understanding and experience in trouble shooting Hydraulic, low voltage electrics, air systems and RCS systems

Personality Requirements:

  • The preferred candidates must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and good work ethic
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision
  • Must be courteous and professional in all communications

Job Title 4: Warehouse Assistant (Contract)

Mission:
The Warehouse Assistant will provide support for the Warehouse Supervisor in managing the warehouse in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures of the company, ensuring that the company’s business goals of growth, market share, profitability and customer satisfaction are met.

  • Assist in the receipt of inventory from Central warehouse and make the necessary system updates
  • Checking packing list against physical quantities of good received to ensure conformity
  • Labeling, stacking and re-arrangement of inventory at the right locations
  • Issue inventory to customer requisitions
  • Assist with random, quarterly and annual stock counts
  • Compile and submit weekly requisition/consumption reports
  • Maintain an efficient filing system for documents used for work
  • Ensure that PPE is worn during all tasks
  • Adhere to environment, health and safety programmes and requirements
  • Manage the relationship between Atlas Copco and the client to the benefit of both companies
  • General warehouse duties and tidiness of the warehouse environment
