Barclays Bank: Product Manager – Liabilities

We are seeking to recruit an experienced professional with the determination to deliver a first class service in our Retail Banking Unit for the role above. The job holder will be responsible for the management of existing products, new product development and product introduction onto the market by engaging all stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide feedback on local competitor product activity and develop a case on how Barclays can stay competitive
• Implement the introduction of new products onto the market by engaging stakeholders and/or creating a steering committee to build a business case, giving a detailed local implementation and monitoring plan
• Apply pricing strategy to local pricing models and manage the publishing of pricing guides
• Give necessary notices to local government/regulators and public product changes
• Liaise with local operations centres to regularly review all operational standards for product profitability
• Review feedback from customers and input into customer satisfaction surveys
• Liaise with people development and sales management functions to design and deliver appropriate training, and give input into sales strategies for our retail outlets
• Execute direct mailing and other product promotional activities as directed by the business 

Required Skills or Experience

Essential (knowledge, experience and skills):

• A detailed understanding of product offerings in the wider financial services industry locally and globally
• Detailed knowledge of consumer buying behavior, marketing techniques and evolving trends
• An understanding of customer segmentation theory and practice
• A detailed understanding of industry, advisory, regulatory and professional bodies
• A good understanding of legislation relating to financial services and channel delivery
• A good knowledge of constructing reports, executive summaries and briefs
• A university degree or its equivalent. Masters Degree will be a plus
