The association BRAVEAURORA was founded on March 3rd, 2009 in Linz, Upper Austria, by the four Austrians Julia Obereder M.A., Tamara Pottfay B.A. , Sarah Kotopulos M.A. and Dr. Christin ter Braak-Forstinger LL.M..

BRAVEAURORA Ghana was founded as an NGO in Accra in 2010. The background for this move is that a locally registered association facilitates contacts externally, with the local authorities (especially the Department of Social Welfare in Accra) as well as potential donors and cooperation-partners.

Reporting to the BRAVEAURORA Project Leader on site in Guabuliga, the Education Coordinator is responsible for all education programmes of BRAVEAURORA. The Education Coordinator must be reliable, detail-oriented, and pro-active. It is also very important that the Education Coordinator be able to work well with people of diverse age, culture and religion.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manager of the BRAVEAURORA Teachers’ Incentives Program

•   Ensure teacher evaluations are comprehensive and accurate
•   Coordinate distribution of bonuses
•   Work closely with all stakeholders, including teachers, staff, PTA/SMC leaders, and GES
•   Initiate improvements and expansions to the program

Manager of all other educational initiatives of BRAVEAURORA

•   Coordinate after-school and holiday educational activities for vulnerable students
•   Assess possibilities of further educational programming and come up with pro-active suggestions (i.e. scholarships for JSS students)

Community Leader and Advocate

•   Represent BRAVEAURORA at official functions
•   Serve as a communication link between the community and BRAVEAURORA

Job Location
Guabuliga, a village close to Walewale, Northern Ghana

Salary: Negotiated dependent on the candidate’s qualifications

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Fluent English, both written and oral
•   Competency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
•   Ability to work well with a diverse range of people
•   Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
•   Detail-oriented
•   Sense of initiative
