The British High Commission (BHC) in Accra has vacancies for six (6) positions as follows:

Residence Manager
The LE3 Residence Manager is a part-time (30 hours per week). She/he will be responsible for budgeting and financial management, planning, organizing and directing all services, including reception, food and beverage operations and housekeeping.

Community Liaison Officer
The job-holder will support UK-based officers and their families prior to their arrival in Ghana, during their settling in period, and thereafter. But the job requires more than this – working between various teams within the BHC and DFID Ghana, contributing to and monitoring the high quality of customer service expected from the BHC’s Corporate Services Team.

Temporary Communications Officer
The job-holder will need to work across the BHC and beyond, to the other parts of the UK Government “family” in Ghana, to promote the UK Government’s engagement with Ghana and to help build internal cohesion through a joined-up communications effort. The Communications Officer will work closely with all Heads of Section, reporting to the 2nd Secretary Political and Deputy High Commissioner.

Political and Communications Assistant
LE3 Political and Communications Assistant, supporting the Political Team and the Communications Officer to promote the BHC’s work in Ghana. The day-to-day tasks will include the full range of typical administrative tasks to support lead officers in high-profile parts of the BHC, but with significant engagement and liaison with the BHC’s external contacts. The Political and Communications Assistant will report to the Political Officer.

Defence Section Assistant
This position is part of a 3-strong team that supports the UK’s defence relationship with Ghana, led by the Defence Adviser. Day-to-day tasks range from typical office-based administration, through engagement and liaison with the Defence Section’s external contacts, to occasional representational work

Security supervisor
This position will support the Security Team led by the Security Manager to supervise and coordinate the activities and personnel of assigned area to maintain security and safety of people and property. Day-to-day tasks include typical office-based administration and monitoring and supervision of G4S security guards.
