CARE International in Ghana is inviting applications from qualified persons to fill the positions of 1 Project Manager for a new Project; “Driving Financial Inclusion through mobile Money”.The project will facilitate the formation of community managed savings and loans groups, link mature groups to formal financial services and also develop a scalable model for scaling up linkages.

Job Title 1: Project Manager

Job Summary:
The position will have the key responsibility of managing relationship between CARE, Financial Institutions, and mobile network operators well as explore and forge linkages of these institutions to Community Savings and Loans groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project implementation planning and budgeting process.
  • Spearhead the implementation of the work plans and strategies.
  • Develop and support an excellent working relationship with and  between implementing partners and CARE
  • Implement the CARE performance management system with all direct supervisees.
  • In collaboration with the Program Coordinator,  support  the Grants manager in the preparation of sub grants.
  • Establish and define guidelines through MoUs to strengthen partnerships arrangements.
  • Establish and maintain systems to facilitate timely and accurate flow of program information between the different partnerships.
  • Engage with MFIs, Banks and mobile Network operators to identify and develop appropriate products for VSLA clients.
  • Facilitate development of appropriate capacity building tools for clients and partner staff in the area of linkages.
  • Support the M&E unit in the development of quality M&E tools and operationalization of these tools.
  • Engage with other NGOs/ INGOs involved in VSLA or community managed microfinance programs and identify issues for joint lobbying and advocacy. 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Graduate/ Post Graduate qualification in Business Management or Economics or Commerce or a related field.
  • Must have at least 3 years management level work experience in the private sector in a service industry preferably financial services or telecommunications.
  • Prior experience of working in microfinance product development and developing linkage between Community Managed Savings and Loan Associations and formal financial institutions will be an added advantage.
  • The candidate must have high degree of analytical and financial analysis skills and excellent communication skills.

Job Title 2: Field Supervisor (3 Positions)

CARE International in Ghana is inviting applications from qualified persons to fill the positions of 3 Field Supervisors for a new Project; “Driving Financial Inclusion through mobile Money”.The project will facilitate the formation of community managed savings and loans groups, link mature groups to formal financial services and also develop a scalable model for scaling up linkages.

Job Summary:
The Field Supervisors will work directly with the Local NGO partners, supervise and monitor field activities. She/He will also be responsible for data collection, VSLA assessment and training of partner NGOs on financial literacy and linkages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Supervision of Field Officers
  • Training of local Partner staff
  • Assist in the preparation of annual plans
  • Management Information Systems and Field Officer Performance analysis.
  • Management/Supervision of MIS information flows to Field Officers
  • Preparation of Progress report 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Degree in social sciences, community development or related field.
  • At least 2 years experience in community development initiatives especially in the microfinance sector.
  • Strong experience in VSLA and  Management of Income generating Activity
  • Experienced trainer/facilitator
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Good organisational skills
  • Analytical and presentation skills
