Central University is an educational Initiative of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC).It has its origins in a short-term Pastoral training institute, which was started in October 1988 by ICGC. It was later incorporated, in June 1991 under the name, Central Bible College. In 1993, the name was changed again to Central Christian College. The College later upgraded its programmes to the baccalaureate level, and in line with national aspirations, expanded its programmes to include an integrated and practice oriented business school, named Central Business School.

Under the Pro Vice Chancellor(Academic) of the Central University College, the Dean is responsible for maintaining and promoting efficiency and good order, and providing strategic direction in running the School in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed by the University Statutes or as may be determined by the University Council,  Academic Board and its Statutory organs purposely for ensuring that the approved programs and functions of the school are fully carried out by its   members

Job description

Job Title: Dean – School Of Applied Sciences

The Position:

  • The Dean of the School is responsible for the general development of the School regarding human and material resources and for the promotion of the work of the School in areas such as student counseling, coordination of teaching and   examinations, student/staff induction, research and internationalization.
  • The Dean is the Chairman of the School Board and administrative Head of   the School and is a member of a range of University Committees and Boards as specified by the Statutes.
  • The Dean is required to teach in his/her subject area of competence, provide strong academic, intellectual, and scholarly leadership toward research excellence and knowledge dissemination through advocacy and extension

Duration:

  • Appointment is for 3 years in the first instance and may be renewed for a further 3 year term
  • Salary and benefit, attached to the position are attractive

Required Skills or Experience

  • The candidate must have academic/professional qualification in any area of relevance or related fields and and be of a Professorial status in a recognized institution and should have considerable experience in teaching, research and general administration
  • Must be an exceptional scholar with a strong managerial acumen; capable of influencing and motivating staff
  • Must be capable of handling and coordinating multiple roles and also maintain high level professional and ethical standards
  • Must be visionary, business-oriented and capable of maintaining collaboration with internal/external stakeholders
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills to handle crisis situations
  • Must be sober and mature with the capacity to drive the vision of the  School
  • Must have strong links with international bodies, scholars aid scholarly associations in Management and Business
