Chief Information Officer: Plato Consult

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) shall be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the organization to ensure effective regeneration and investment in Information Technology. The role reports to the Managing Director.

Key responsibilities include;
Lead the IT function in line with best practice technology measures. Functions include Application Management, Strategic Programs, Service Management and Operations such as Billing, ERR, Data, CRM
Management of relationships with other company functions and partners to deliver seamless IT services across all business needs to ensure an excellent customer experience
Lead the business in understanding and using IT to achieve strategic goals with a particular focus on compelling propositions and best cost operations
Direct the information and data integrity of the company and its business units.
Develop strategic plans and implement the objectives of the information technology needs of the company and ensure they in line with the needs of the company’s growth and objectives.
Approves, coordinates and controls all projects related to selection, acquisition, development and installation of major information systems for the company.
Advice on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.
Develop and establish operating policies and approaches for computing and information technology.
Evaluate overall operations of the organization with regards to computing and information technology functions and recommend enhancements.
Prepare enterprise objectives and budgets to facilitate the orderly and efficient capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information.
Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum 10 years experience in IT with 5 years in a senior management position.
Knowledge of key areas of business operation in the telecommunications industry
First degree in an IT/ computer science or related program
Msc/MBA (project managment, finance, IT etc)
Strong analytical and written ability
Experience in strategic planning and execution.
Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications and outsourced systems
