The Civil Service Council invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians who are goal oriented, results driven with exceptional leadership qualities, enthusiasm and innovation for appointment to the following position.
Object of the Position:
To provide overall professional and administrative leadership, vision, strategic direction, guidance and supervision for the operations of the Departments.
- Provide leadership and guidance for determining policies and objectives within the Department and the implementation of the policies and objectives;
- Co-ordinate work programme and provide rules, guidelines and procedures to facilitate the achievement of targets set by the Ministry
- Ensure effective organization and development of training programmes consistent with sectoral policies and programmes;
- Establish systems for effective departmental collaboration, co-ordination and co-operation to avoid duplication and to achieve harmonization
- Develop systems of effective work flow and feed-back on the activities within the Department;
- Put in place effective resource mobilization strategies for the sourcing of funds from development partners for effective implementation of programmes and activities
Required Skills or Experience
- A minimum of a Masters Degree in Social Science; Preferably, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Public/Business Administration or equivalent related discipline from an Accredited Tertiary Institution
- A minimum of twelve (12) years post-qualification relevant work experience, five (5) years of which must be in a senior management position in a reputable organization

- Good leadership and decision making skills;
- Strong administrative and supervisory skills;
- Good team player;
- Strong quantitative, qualitative and analytical skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in computer application;
- Conversant with the Financial Administration Act, the Public Procurement Act and the Internal Audit Agency Act;
- Conversant with development policy priorities and international treaties and protocols on gender
