Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Manager Health, Safety and Loss Prevention (HSLP) to carry out the requirements of the Integrated and HSLP Management System, as they relate to Emergency Response for the Ahafo Operations.

Essential Duties:

• Develop and administer Newmont Ghana’s Programs to prevent and control loss due to emergency situations such as fire, hazardous chemicals, underground mine resource and other
• Ensure all site emergency response equipment are maintained
• Conduct fire extinguisher training for the sites in conjunction with L&D
• Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System and participate in HSLP in system audits

Required Skills or Experience

• A degree and graduate diploma in Health, Safety and Loss Prevention or Emergency Response is preferred
• Demonstrated effective performance in achieving or exceeding agreed targets
• Knowledge of relevant health  and safety legislative requirements
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills
