Job Description

Job Title:  Budget and Cost Controller

Job Purpose

•   The Senior Budget and Cost Controller will assist his superior in all corporate budget and control activities.

Key Activities:

•   Assist in the preparation of economic and financial budgets for all corporate and JV activities
•   Checks actual revenue and costs incurred against budgets and analyses resultant variations for control purposes
•   Assists with the preparation of JV and corporate investment plans, economic and financial budgets and also carries out economic analysis on investment projects
•   Assists with the determination and development of Budget Procedures, Reports and other activities aimed at improving the flow of information and data regarding the budget function

Key Responsibility

•   To assist his superior in the timely and accurate execution of cost controls, preparation of budget and analysis of variance, monthly department activity reports in line with modern systems and techniques of forecasting, planning and budgeting and in conformity with the Joint Venture Operating Agreements, as well as Petroleum Laws and Regulations

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Accredited University degree in Accountancy and professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, AcMA, C.I
•   SAP User
•   Master’s preferable
•   4 years work experience in financial accounting in the oi industry
•   Excellent oral and written English
•   Strong knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook
