The services of a National Consultant are being sought to assist the Government of Ghana in the implementation of the various components of the project.

The National Consultant will work at and under the direct supervision of Ghana’s Ozone Office of the Environmental Protection Agency. The work will be monitored by the UNDP’s local office, UNDP’s Montreal Protocol Unit in New York, Italy’s Ministry of Environment as well as the various International Consultants under the programme. The activities will include duties related to the following components.

Establishment of the Regulatory Environment
Focused Sensitization of Target Groups
Training and Certification of HCFC Servicing in the refrigeration sector
Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Retrofit
End-user Incentive Programme (starting after 2012 if contract is extended)
Duration of Assignment: The assignment will be established on a full-time basis during the first year and upon satisfactory perfomance may be extended for future years

Remuneration: Remuneration will be based on local salary scales and fees available at UNDP-Accra
Required Skills or Experience

Engineering degree or equivalent, related to refrigeration technology
At least fifteen (15) years experience in the refrigeration sector in Ghana
Proven knowledge of the properties and performance of refrigerants
Proven capacities of handling Montreal Protocol ODS phase-out projects and knowledge of Montreal Protocol related issues and environmental policies will be considered an asset
Fluency in English is necessary
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to use e-mail
