Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Role Summary:

The Field Service Engineer is the primary person responsible for execution of a work scope for the customer meeting all environmental, health, safety and quality standards. The role will require flexibility in working hours and an ability to adapt to challenges on a daily basis, working with team members locally and remotely. Work location will be a mixture of onshore workshop in Takoradi, Ghana and offshore. This is not a rotational position.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

• Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and on-going preventive maintenance and repair of tools after installation

• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment

• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer’s sites

• Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials and preparing job status reports in a timely and thorough basis

• Maintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessary

• Provide leadership and technical direction while performing work on customer sites

• Maintain strong safety mind-set to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards

• Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintage

• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

• Proven experience in an offshore field service role

• Team management experience

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work to deadlines with minimum supervision

• Strong computer skills with word and excel

Desired Characteristics:

• Minimum of five years of engineering experience

• EHS and Quality qualifications

• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry

• Has working knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry technical and regulatory framework

• Flexible attitude to working patterns

• Willingness and ability to travel

• Ability to effectively perform & contribute in a matrix team environment
