Job Title: General Manager

Position Objective:

•   To provide technical and operational leadership and direction for the achievement of the corporate objectives of the organization.

Job Description

•   Provide strategic leadership and guidance for the effective and efficient management of the Bank:
•   Set priorities, define assignments and motivate other staff to shared goals
•   Supervise agencies and head office operations to achieve stated objectives
•   Prepare and review budgets and assist in the review of the bank’s Corporate Plans
•   Manage the Bank’s treasury and investments profitably
•   Monitor the Bank’s general operations, products, competitors, strategies, costs and other risk areas of operations and submit monthly reports to the Board for decision making
•   Supervise timely preparation and submission of prudential and other statutory returns / reports to stakeholders
•   Oversee the activities of the bank’s credit portfolio to ensure efficient credit management
•   Ensure the effective management of Bank’s IT infrastructure and safeguard its electronic data or information system
•   Ensure the judicious use and proper management of the Bank’s Assets
•   To execute any other duties that may be assigned by the Board from time to time

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce or related field of study with at least ten (10) years working experience in a Banking institution of which five (5) years should be in a managerial position
•   Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related field of study

Or

•   A holder of a final certificate from an accredited professional body (eg. ACIB, ACCA, CIMA, ICAG, CPA, etc). A candidate under this category must have five (5) years working experience in a banking Institution of which three (3) years should be in a Managerial position
•   Satisfactory working experience in the Rural Banking environmental would be of distinct advantage
