This position is funded by the Ghana Association of Bankers and is tenable in the Department of Accounting and Finance, KNUST school of Business, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST), for a period of ONE YEAR, renewable for another year, effective 2011/2012 Academic Year.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities would include the following:
- Facilitating the development of programmes in Banking and Finance to the highest international standards:
- Teaching and supervising graduate and undergraduate Students in Banking and Finance
- Conducting research and developing case studies in Banking and Finance which is of relevance to business in Ghana and advancement of knowledge;
- Disseminating Research findings through high quality publications in referred journals and participation in local and international conferences;
- Developing a strong Banking and Finance research group in the Department and providing leadership for same;
- Forging of strong links between KNUST and the financial sector;
- Preparing and submitting Quarterly Reports on your work to the Vice-Chancellor through the Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, and an end of tenure Report to the Ghana Association of Bankers through the Vice-Chancellor
Emoluments:
The successful candidate will be provided with the following:
- $12,500 (Cedi equivalent) per annum as Salary supplementation to the basic University Salary emoluments, and contribution to accommodation; and,
- $7,500 (Cedi equivalent) per annum for research and equipment
Required Skills or Experience
Eligibility:
- The Position is open to Ghanaians and other distinguished African Scholars, including serving staff of academic institutions in Ghana, with a PhD or DBA (preferably of the rank of Associate or Full Professor), in Banking and Finance and with proven experience in teaching and research in Banking and Finance, business, or industry
- The occupant would be required to promote the discipline of banking and finance through teaching, research and advocacy at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
