A sale is the exchange of a commodity or money as the price of a good or a service. Sales (plural only) is activity related to selling or the amount of goods or services sold in a given time period.

The seller or the provider of the goods or services completes a sale in response to an acquisition, appropriation,requisition or a direct interaction with the buyer at the point of sale. There is a passing of title (property or ownership) of the item, and the settlement of a price, in which agreement is reached on a price for which transfer of ownership of the item will occur. The seller, not the purchaser generally executes the sale and it may be completed prior to the obligation of payment. In the case of indirect interaction, a person who sells goods or service on behalf of the owner is known as salesman or saleswoman.

Our client, a global manufacturer and supplier of chemical and mechanical earth control products is currently looking to recruit a proactive Technical Sales Officer to help in their operations in Ghana.

Job Description

Job Title: Technical Sales Officer

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will promote, support and provide technical advice on the company’s ground support products to the mining industries and to realize the company’s sales and profitability target in the region

DUTIES

  • Establish strong enduring and functional customer relationships that will maximize results for customers
  • Maintain the company’s time and territory management system
  • Reasonable improvements of area sales results per a year
  • Provide continuous and accurate feedback to the area Sales Lead: Export
  • Provide market intelligence on customers and competitors
  • Ensure that the company is professionally represented at all times
  • Maintaining stock and cost effective repairs in satellite workshops
  • Establish and maintain excellent working and personal relations as well as trust with relevant employees that adds value to customer success
  • Capture the value delivered to customers through case studies, promotional articles and technical papers with the team
  • Hold regular meetings with U/G Assistants in order to stay abreast of any issues and concerns
  • Provide product development feedback and interact with both Marketing and Technical functions in U/G market segment
  • Monitor projects when transitioning from trial to ongoing sales
  • Ensure adherence to all EHS policies, procedures and standards to safeguard company’s personnel and assets
  • Investigate SH&E incidents in your area of operation
  • Support appropriate SH&E initiatives with customers
  • Manage product stewardship issues efficiently.

 EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Post Mining / Rock Mechanic Qualification
  • Financial management experience
  • 5 years’ sales experience with Ground support products/underground mining
  • Sales training course will be an advantage
