Ghana Red Cross Society Vacancies (3 Positions)

The Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians for the position.

1. Secretary-General:

Responsibilities for Secretary-General:
As Chief Executive of the National Society, he/she will be responsible for the:

Day-to-day functioning of the organisation and report to the President and Board
Strengthen links with Government and local/international Partners
Resource mobilization for execution of programmes
Co-ordination of integrated health, disaster and organizational development programmes
Regular monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure sustainability
Ensuring execution of Operational plans
To advocate and promote the Red Cross fundamental principles; Humanity, Independence, Neutrality, Impartiality, Voluntary service, Unity and Universality
Should be ready to work at odd hours and travel extensively in and outside the country

Salary: Commensurate with qualification and experience

Required Skills or Experience

A minimum of Master’s degree from a competent administrator with social sciences background and at least 5 years post qualification experience or first degree with at least 15 years post qualification experience
At least five years experience in Humanitarian work at Senior management level\\
Good at Report writing, communication skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Team player with ability to work independently
Computer literate

2. Regional Manager

Responsibilities for Regional Manager:

Day-to-day functioning of the organisation at the Regional and report to the Secretary General
Strengthen links with Government and Partners
Resource mobilisation for execution of Operational plans and monitoring of projects
Should be ready to work at odd hours
To advocate and promote the Red Cross fundamental principles; Humanity, Independence, Neutrality, Impartiality, Voluntary service, Unity and Universality

Salary: Commensurate with qualification and experience

Required Skills or Experience

Master’s degree from a competent administrator with social sciences background and at least 3 years post qualification experience or first degree with at least 7 years post qualification experience
At least five years experience in Humanitarian work at Senior management level
Conversant with First Aid and knowledgeable in Humanitarian work
Good report writing, communication skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Team player and ability to co-ordinate projects
Computer literate

3. Health Co-ordinator

Responsibilities for Health Co-ordinator:

Management and coordination of health programmes in the National Society and report of the Secretary General
Strengthen links with Government and Partners
Support disaster management
Resource mobilisation for health programmes, execution of Operational plans and monitoring of projects
Should be ready to work at odd hours
To advocate and promote the Red Cross fundamental principles; Humanity, Independence, Neutrality, Impartiality, Voluntary service, Unity and Universality

Salary: Commensurate with qualification and experience

Required Skills or Experience

Master’s degree in public health or relevant field with at least 3 years post qualification experience or first degree with at least 10 years post qualification experience
At least five years experience in Humanitarian work at Senior management level
Good at Report writing and Communication skills
Team player and ability to co-ordinate projects
Computer literate
