Artisan III HME Drill Rig Mechanic (C1)
Purpose of the Job:
The Heavy Mining Equipment Department of Tarkwa Gold Mine is seeking to employ a dedicated, experienced and self motivated individuals to fill the position of an Artisan III HME Drill Rig Mechanic.
The incumbent shall be responsible for ensuring the application of knowledge and experience to maintain Drill Rigs in a responsible, safe, efficient and effective manner for high equipment availability and reliability, while ensuring that management systems, policies, procedures, standards are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute daily routine work strictly according to Procedures and Standards
- Maintain a comprehensive record/file of applicable standards and procedures
- Undertake daily routine fault tracing and maintenance of drill rigs
- Undertake maintenance in a timely manner to meet targets
- Encourage inputs from the work groups which lead to continuous improvement
- Suggest improved ways of performing tasks
- Carry out responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner ensuring compliance with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 requirements
- Ensure effective use of PPE according to standard procedures
- Identify and provide full reports on risks and hazards
- Responsible for own safety and that of others
- Ensure that areas of responsibility are maintained to a high standard of housekeeping
Required Skills or Experience
Advertisement
- A minimum of a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent
- Around (3) years experience in Drill Rig Maintenance preferably (D45KS BLAST HOLE RIG)
- Experienced in safe lifting practices
- Ability to work for long hours to obtain the required results
- Well developed oral and written communication skills
- Medical fitness for the position and environment
- A valid Ghanaian drivers’ license – Group (E)
