Required Skills or Experience

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the following position. You must have the following abilities and meet the listed requirements in order to assist the Expat Exploration Fitter with all facets of maintenance to achieve high availability,

• Applicant must be capable of scheduling and doing ongoing maintenance and break down repairs & fault diagnosis for DE840 Multi Purpose Drill Rig, Volvo Prime Mover and Lowbed and 4×4 Truck, D7H Dozers Tamrock Ranger 700-2 RAB rig, Lighting Tower, Welding Plant etc
• Welding work as required;
• Suitably education and/or experience for position; especially previous exposure to diamond and reverse circulation drilling work;
• Fluency, comprehension & writing in English;
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude; can take initiative in problem solving, can work as part of a team; punctuality and promptness are essential qualities;
• Physical fit, motivated and willing to learn and take instruction; able to work in a potential dusty, dirty and noisy working environment; willing to accept working rigors of exploration drilling and occasional hardships associated with that work;
• Can assist the Exploration Fitter with all facets of maintenance to achieve high availability;
• Is familiar with maintenance and break down repairs & fault diagnosis on: Exploration Multi Purpose Drill Rig, Volvo Prime Mover and Lowbed, D7H Dozers, Tamrock Ranger 700-2, lighting tower, welding plant and related work stations, all 4×4 Trucks, repairing of water swivel, air swivel and other drilling items;
• Capable of independently completing any other reasonable task assigned by supervisor;
• Be environmentally aware and willing to follow company environmental policies;
• Able to organise all logistics, supplies and drilling consumables as needed;
• Train assistants and/or offsiders as necessary;
• Any other reasonable tasks assigned by the supervisor
• Be able to operate as part of a team, open to learn and taking new instruction if needed;
• Any other reasonable task assigned by the supervisor

• Be flexible in worksite arrangements due to remoteness of exploration location;
• Be willing to adjust work hours to shift or extended hours and days to suit demands of field exploration work;
• Able to work with an experienced exploration management administration team knowing that fairness will be a paramount consideration;
• Willing to undertake to work anywhere in West Africa as exploration demands dictate;
• Usual expectation of good interpersonal skills;
• Must be motivated and have a history of showing initiative in problem solving;
• Ability to obtain appropriate valid Ghanaian driving licence;
• References required;
