Goldtree SL Ltd (www.goldtreeholdings.com) is developing and extending the oil palm operations originally centred around plantations and a processing plant at Daru, Eastern Providence, Sierra Leone. As part of the initial development, Goldtree will provide a process capacity of 20 tonnes of FFB per hour with the likelihood of a further extension to 30 tonnes FFB per hour within a year. Completion is scheduled for September 2012.

The Daru mill be the largest FFB processing plant in Sierra Leone. It will process FFB both from Goldtree’s own plantations and from outside growers. The processing facilities will include a kernel crushing plant, a packing and packaging plant. The mill will generate its own steam and electricity using high pressure steam boilers and steam and diesel generators.

Job Description

Goldtree now seeks to recruit skilled and experienced individuals to assist in the completion and then be responsible for operating this plant.

  • The Mill Manager will be responsible to the General Manager for running the palm oil mill and other processing plant, and for increasing its capacity in due course.
  • He will train the mill staff and improve the mill’s operating performance

Required Skills or Experience

  • The successful candidate will be a professionally qualified mechanical or process engineer with at least eight years experience in processing plant management
  • Personal experience in the management and operation of steam and electrical plant is essential
  • Only applicants with strong leadership skills and a total commitment to excellent performance will be considered
