Gratis Foundation Ghana Engineering Recruitment 2011 (6 Vacancies)
1. Regional/District Co-ordinator
following an organisational restructuring exercise undertaken under auspices of the Public Sector Reform Secretariat with funding from the World Bank and merger of GRATIS Foundation with the Ghana Industrial Skills Development Centre (GISDC), the following position have become vacant.
Duty Station: Gratis Head Office, Tema
Major Function:
- To provide support to the Chief Executive Officer in the management and coordination of the technical and operational activities of GRATIS to ensure that research, designing, and prototyping, manufacturing and training programmes are conducted according to set objectives.
Required Skills or Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, development studies, economics or statistics. A postgraduate degree in one of the disciplines will be an advantage
- Membership of a relevant professional association will be an advantage
2. Training Officer
Duty Station: Regional Branch or District Centre
Major Function:
- To co-ordinate technical apprentice, visiting apprentice and internship training at a GRATIS Regional Branch or District Centre. Monitor, appraise and report on the performance of trainees
Required Skills or Experience
- Higher National Diploma or Mechanical Engineering Technician Part III both with production option
- A higher qualification will be an advantage
3. Marketing Manager
Duty Station: Gratis Head Office, Tema
Major Function:
- To implement the corporate marketing plan of GRATIS Foundation involving market research, advertising, sales and public relations
Required Skills or Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, plus a Master’s in Business Administration (Marketing)
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (Ghana)
4. Cost and Management Accountant
Duty Station: Gratis Head Office, Tema
Major Function:
Advertisement
- To provide support to the Finance Manager in the costing of products and services to ensure cost recovery and sustainability of GRATIS operations
Required Skills or Experience
- Chartered Institute of Cost and Management Accounting (CIMA) Part III
- Membership of relevant professional association will be an advantage
5. Operations Manager
Duty Station: erstwhile GISDC, Located on Tema Technical Institute
Major Function:
- Co-ordinates the training of employees of industries in mechanical, electrical and process engineering
Required Skills or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering. Additional qualification in Education will be an advantage
6. Training Co-ordinator
Duty Station: Gratis Head Office, Tema
Major Function:
- Training is a core activity of GRATIS Foundation that is supported by the Government of Ghana because the nature of GRATIS programmes enhances employment and self-employment. A candidate Training Co-ordinator will be responsible for overseeing the training programmes at GRATIS Head Office, Regional Branches and District Rural Technology Service Centres (RTSCs). The programme are a 3-year full time technical apprentice training, part-time visiting apprentice training and internships for university, polytechnic and technical school students
Required Skills or Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with production bias. Additional qualification in Education will be an advantage
