Guinness Ghana Breweries is a Ghanaian brewery based at the Kaasai Industrial Area in Kumasi. They are listed on the stock index of the Ghana Stock Exchange, the GSE All-Share Index. It formed in 1991.When production started at its inception, the company produced only Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, popularly known as Guinness. The primary depot was at the same position with stores across the country particularly in the south. In 1988/89 another brand, this time non-alcoholic beverage, Malta Guinness was introduced and that became an instant hit capturing almost 70% of that market

Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) is a leading brewer and marketer of alcoholic and Malt drinks in Ghana. The company has a vision to be the most vibrant and iconic business in Ghana.
GGBL is listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange with Diageo Plc owning 52.42% of the issued share capital. Heineken are the second largest shareholder owning 20% of the issues share capital. Diageo Plc is listed on both the US and London Stock Exchanges. GGBL therefore is required to comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Job Description

Job Title: Brand Manager – Media and Digital

This role drives the Media and Digital planning and execution for all brands in the Ghana market. This is a challenging role, as the media and digital landscape both within the organisation and through our agency partners is relatively immature.



  • Minimum of a University Degree (any subject)
  • 5 years + experience in marketing and/or media/digital planning. Candidates should have had similar roles in peer companies.

1) Create and execute the key digital and media plans for Ghana in service of the brand and business goals set out in the annual Game Plan

  • Working with the brand marketing teams to define the appropriate goals, budgets and strategies to deliver the overall brand objectives
  • Work with key agency partners to execute the most efficient and effective plans, to deliver these objectives

Manage the agency base to ensure that we have the right agencies and people within the agencies to effectively deliver our business plans

2) To lead Ghana’s thinking over the media and digital landscape, using innovative and creative approaches to drive Top of Mind Awareness ahead of our competitors

  • Working with internal experts, agency and industry specialists to establish new and different ways of working.
  • To challenge standard practice and bring us to a best in class standard in both the digital and media space, amongst comparable consumer goods business
  • To support the launch of critical innovation brands

3) Coordinate Media Initiatives in the market

  • Provide training and support on digital and media for the whole organisation
  • Work with GBT and Global Innovation team on developing key initiatives in the region
  • Consolidate reporting on key initiatives and performance intervene where required
  • Search and Spin initiatives across the region
