iDE’s approach is creating demand for household sanitation and hand washing solutions and encouraging local businesses to invest their own resources to serve the demand. The WASH program’s four-pronged approach:

Deepens households’ initial sanitation demand using a marketing approach that engenders behaviour change
Designs and builds the capacity of local businesses to produce and sell affordable and sustainable sanitation solutions

Supports the establishment of local financial mechanisms to facilitate households’ access to sanitation and hygiene solutions
Engages with local government authorities to sensitize them on the importance for enforcing regulations and creating an enabling business environment for the success of entrepreneurs providing a market-based sanitation and hand hygiene solution.

Job Description

Job Title: Supply Chain Coordinator

The Supply Chain Coordinator (SCC) coordinates supply chain and oversees process to its completion. Ensure that products are installed on time and at the agreed cost to customers. Shall be involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of products delivery.

The position is full time and the scope and emphasis of the role are based on supervision, system controls, and coordination’s. This may change over time, new responsibilities may be added and existing ones dropped or modified as required. Duties shall involve the following;

  •  Use MIS systems to manage stock and production levels,
  • To ensure that Sanitation Business Owners receive, log, and install orders,
  • Control and manage delivery times and transport costs;
  • Use information systems to coordinate and control order cycle;
  • Use data from MIS systems to evaluate performance and to plan improvements;
  • Allocate and manage concrete producer’s resources according to changing needs;
  • Liaise and negotiate with customers and concrete producers on timely installation;
  • Analysing logistical problems and produce new solutions;
  • Implement health and safety procedures;
  • Support production team in training concrete producers;
  • Work on new supply strategies and plan vehicle logistics utilising Management Information Systems;

Required Skills or Experience

  • Graduated from with diploma in Economics or Supply Chain
  • At least 2 years work experience in warehousing, storage, retail, finance or administration.
  • Available for regular travel within assigned provinces and Motor bike riding skill.
  • Experience working in rural areas and with rural communities is an asset
  • Knowledge in WASH is an asset
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Dagbane,
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
