Institute of Professional Studies Recruits Several Positions

The Institute of Professional Studies was established in 1965 as a private institution and was taken over by the Government in 1979; Subsequently, the Institute of Professional Studies Act of 1999 (Act 566) was enacted by Parliament which transformed it into a tertiary institution with the mandate to provide professional and academic education in the disciplines of Accountancy and Management.

The Institute attained full-fledged university status on 1st September, 2008 when it was granted a Presidential Charter. The Council of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) hereby announces that the post of Registrar of the Institute of Professional Studies? will fall vacant from 1ST JULY, 2010, A successor is therefore being sought to replace the Registrar, MR. W. B. DAPAAH, who retires from the Institute as of that date.

Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment into the following departments:

• Department of Accounting
• Department of Banking and Finance
• Department of Marketing
• Department of Public Relations
• Department of Administration

Areas of Specialization:

1. Quantitative Techniques
2. Environmental Management
3. Research Methods
4. Management Information Systems
5. Business Policy and Strategy
6. Marketing
7. Accounting
8. Economics
9. Management
10. Business Finance

• Successful candidates will be required to teach courses at the professional, undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate research and project work/dissertations, and offer academic counseling to students
• In addition, candidates will be required to contribute regularly to knowledge in their field by publishing in refereed journals or with reputable publishing houses. Serving the Faculty and the Departments in multiple, ways, including committee work will be required

Required Skills or Experience

• Candidates must possess Ph.D in the relevant areas of specialization. In addition, they must have considerable number of years of teaching/research experience at a University or a comparable institution with not less than twenty (20) refereed publications since appointment as lecturer
