Job Title: Data Entry Manager

Project Overview

IPA Ghana seeks a data entry team to work on the “Guidance and Information for Improved Decisions in Education” (GUIIDE) data capture activity. GUIIDE is a project that examines the impact of information on the demand for education.  Specifically, the project examines whether the provision of information about SHS and the strategic way of making SHS choices affect how final year JHS students select schools for secondary education. Additionally, the project will assess the long term effect of the information intervention on educational attainment and future job selection.  The GUIIDE project is undertaken by IPA in collaboration with Ghana Education Service (GES) and other affiliate bodies in the education sector.

The Data Entry Manager reports directly to the Research Associate and is responsible for overseeing the data entry process and ensuring a high quality data output. S/he will play a significant role in ensuring that work is carried out systematically and in accordance with prescribed IPA data entry protocols

Responsibilities 

  • The specific tasks of the Data Entry Manager include:
  • Perform administrative task
  • Oversee the Data Entry operations
  • Assist with data entry interface development
  • Run Stata Do file to reconcile data already captured
  • Monitoring staff productivity and calculate error rate
  • Develop work-plans and assign work to Data Entry Agents
  • Ensure high data security in accordance with IPA standards
  • Supervise the Data Entry Agents in the execution of their task
  • Ensure the effective tracking of all surveys received for data entry
  • Ensure the safety of data entry equipment in accordance with IPA security policies
  • Conduct training for data entry staff in accordance with IPA protocols and standards

Required Skills or Experience

  • A first degree, HND or any higher certificate
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in Data Entry Management
  • A minimum of 6 months’ data entry experience
  • Professional experience with Microsoft word and excel (12 months minimum)
  • Fast typing skills with high level of accuracy (below 0.5 % error rate required)
  • Ability to follow instructions and paying attention to details
  • Prior experience in working with IPA data entry management is an added advantage
  • Must possess at least a minimum working knowledge in Stata
  • Must possess good working knowledge in CSpro
  • Must possess excellent data management skill
  • Demonstrate professional maturity, excellent organizational and good interpersonal skills for teamwork, and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work to meet deadlines in multiple tasking environments
