For almost forty years, Jhpiego has put evidence-based health innovations into everyday practice to overcome barriers to high-quality health care services, and has empowered frontline health workers by designing and implementing effective, low-cost, hands-on solutions that strengthen the delivery of health care services.

Currently in Ghana, Jhpiego is recruiting for 3 positions, to be filled by Ghanaians with experience working in HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and/or treatment. JOB 1: Programme Director

The Programme Director will provide leadership to the project team by working closely with the Country Director, Jhpiego staff, Donors, other Development partners, Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service and stakeholders to ensure high quality and excellence in program design, implementation and reporting.

Qualifications for Programme Director:

Post-graduate training in public health or other relevant discipline; clinical degree preferred

A minimum of 10 years of mid- to senior-level experience in designing, implementing or managing large, health programs

Proven leadership skills, as well as skills in facilitation, team building and coordination

Technical expertise and experience in two or more areas e.g. HIV/AIDS, Primary Health Care, Malaria, Maternal and Child Health, Pre-service Education

Excellent interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills, and fluency in English

JOB 2: Senior HIV/AIDS Technical Advisor

The Senior HIV/AIDS Technical Advisor will guide the strategic planning and design of the program, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure timely and cost-effective implementation of program activities. The S/he will develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with program partners and country stakeholders, and manage the donor relationship. S/he will supervise core technical team members.

Qualifications for Senior HIV/AIDS Technical Advisor:

Post-graduate training in public health or other relevant discipline; clinical degree preferred

A minimum of 7 years of mid- to senior-level experience in designing, implementing or managing large, complex, HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment programs

Proven leadership skills, as well as skills in facilitation, team building and coordination

Technical expertise in three or more areas of HIV/AIDS programming (e.g., HIV counselling and testing, HIV prevention, HIV care and treatment support groups, HIV lab infrastructure, gender based violence, human resources for health, etc.)

Demonstrated expertise working with international donors, senior government officials and policymakers

Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform

JOB 3: Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator will be charged with ensuring that day-to-day project runs smoothly. This may include organizing events and meetings, scheduling transport, purchasing supplies, etc. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Senior HIV/AIDS Technical Advisor and Programme Director.

Qualifications for Project Coordinator:

Bachelors Degree in public health, project management, or related field; masters degree preferred

A minimum 3 years experience in project coordination and logistics

High proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience and interest working in public health

Ability to multitask, work under short deadlines

Fluency in English
