A new life insurance company in Accra has vacancy for the following senior position:

Job Title: Managing Director

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

•   Provide good leadership and manage the affairs of the company efficiently to achieve the targets and objectives set by the Board of Directors
•   Initiate policies and strategies to promote and grow the business of the company
•   Institute measures to ensure compliance with statutes relevant to the operations of the company, and policies and programmes approved by the Board of Directors
•   Institute effective control systems to protect the resources of the company, and minimize or prevent income leakages and wastage
•   Broker relations with good business partners and Government Agencies to promote the business of the company

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum of first degree in Insurance, Marketing, Actuarial Science, Finance or Social Science plus the Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) Diploma or a recognizes professional insurance qualification
•   A minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in the insurance industry, at least five (5) years of which should have been in a managerial or analogous position
•   High level of integrity, good sense of judgement, good interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge or relevant laws relating to insurance are required

Location: Accra

Job Title: Chief Finance Officer

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

•   Document all financial transactions, and prepare financial statements, reports and budgets in conformity with International Financial Reporting Standards and relevant statutes
•   Submit financial statements and reports periodically to regulatory agencies, board of directors and management for decision-making
•   Manage efficiently the financial of the company, and ensure that all financial obligations of the company are met
•   Initiate the development of measures to effectively control cost, and improve financial performance of the company
•   Coordinate and assist the External Auditors and Inspectors from National Insurance Commission during their periodic inspections

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum of first degree in Accounting / Finance, plus a recognised professional qualification in Accounting such as CA (Chartered Accountants, Ghana), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), ACMA (Association of Cost and Management Accountants), ICAEW (Association of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales), CPA (Certified Public Accountants, USA)
•   At least five (5) years relevant post qualification experience in the Insurance Industry
•   High level of integrity and professionalism are required
