The Johns Hopkins University/Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP) is recruiting for multiple position for an upcoming project initiative to start in September 2011. The position are located in Tamale, Takoradi, Kumasi, Cape Coast and Accra.

The Community Mobilization Assistants position are focused on strengthening and enhancing the capacity of communities, local NGOs, and district authorities to identify, plan and implement activities in response to priority health and social needs in both rural and urban communities. These position require extensive travel.

Required Skills or Experience

Program Officers require a Bachelors Degree in relevant field and a minimum of 2 years professional working experience.
Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of partners in various settings: national, regional, district and community and interagency/project levels
Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, participation and action approaches and their application to promoting health and social development
Experience and demonstrated skills in project coordination, training organisation, coaching and motivation in community mobilization concepts and practices
Must be knowledgeable of the Ghanaian community organisational structure and some of the basic principles underlying the operations of such structures
Possess the ability to work and provide leadership in a team environment
Be flexible and adaptable with capacity to take initiative forward
Possess good communication/writing skills
