Kumasi polytechnic was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute. The Polytechnic has been making strides in the quest to fulfil its mandate of training students to meet the critical manpower needs of the country. The Polytechnic has a student population of about 8,000and a staff population of about 500. IN October, 1963, the institution was turned into a Polytechnic under the control of the Ghana Education Service.  The main programmes which were taught from that time included technician courses in Engineering, Catering, Fashion Design, Royal Society of Arts (R.S.A.) and Diploma in Business Studies (D. B. S.)

Required Skills and Experience:

Possess a Master’s degree in Library or Information Science with a minimum of five (5) years experience

Possess high degree of administrative, ICT and leadership skills

Have evidence of Publication

As part of the requirements, the successful candidate will be required to:

Demonstrate high professional skills and integrity

Have good interpersonal relationship

Be able to work under pressure

Experience in academic library would be an advantage
