Job Title: Assistant Human Resource Officer
Job Summary
To support the effective operation of the university’s Human Resource and Administration functions, through the efficient use of resources.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Human Resource Manager in the performance of HR functions;
- Support the recruitment, selection and on-boarding processes;
- Coordinate preparations for the arrival of new staff – working area, tools etc;
- Coordinate induction process for new staff members;
- Regular update of HR database;
- Liaise with line manager to ensure that performance review schedules are adhered to;
- Coordinate staff events i.e. teambuilding sessions;
- Analyse monthly staff attendance;
- Liaise with First Impressions Executive to monitor and supervise the work of drivers, Office Support staff;
- Oversee the effective management of the front office;
- Facilitate travel arrangements for staff;
- Coordinate logistics for in-house training for staff;
- Motivate team members to deliver on set targets;
- Identify learning and development needs of team members in order to offer appropriate interventions ;
Required Skills or Experience
- A good first degree in Human Resource, Business Administration or its equivalent;
- Professional Certification in Human Resource;
- Good knowledge of Ghana’s Labour Law, Act 651 (2003);
- Knowledge of modern trends in Human Resource Management;
- Knowledge of Office Processes and Procedures;
- Good people-management skills;
- Good communication skills – oral and written;
- Conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to guard confidentiality of process and information
- Problem-solving skills;
- Good team player
