Golden Star Resources (GSR) Recruits Senior Metallurgist

Golden Star Resources (GSR) is a growing mining Company with two operating mines in Ghana, Golden Star (Bogoso/Prestea) Limited and Golden Star (Wassa) Limited and other projects at various stage of development.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Develop and oversee test programmes and assist in implementing results to enhance plant performance;
Assist operation staff in optimizing plant performance as necessary;
Monitor and optimize process plant reagents and consumables;
Compile and interpret statistical data for reporting;
Supervise and coordinate activities at the metallurgical laboratory;
Supervise metallurgical inventory;
Promote safety and safe work practices; and
Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time by supervisor

Required Skills or Experience

Degree in BSc Metallurgical/Mineral/Chemical Engineering or Diploma in Mineral Engineering with at least six (6) years hands-on experience;
In-depth understanding of all basic unit operations;
Knowledge of Biox operations;
Proficient in technical report writing;
Must be computer literate;
Excellent communication and analytical skills;
Good team player;
Work with minimum supervision;
Must possess a valid Ghanaian drivers’ license
