The Legal Resources Centre (LRC) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to ensuring Human Rights, Human Dignity for all through the building of Human Rights Cities and conducting research, advocacy and advisory services. The LRC is currently implementing its 2010-2012 Strategic Plan (SP). The LRC under its new SP intends to develop sustained efforts at ensuring respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms in Ghana.
Work with the Executive Director and other Directors to review, update and implement a multifaceted fundraising plan.
Work regularly with the Executive Director and the Director of Finance and Administration to identify new donor and grant prospects and potential project funding sources for specific projects.
Organize pertinent data, write grant, applications, formally submit all grant, documentation to the appropriate funding agencies after the approval of the Executive Director.
Develop and maintain positive relationships through regular communication with key partners.
Train staff on fundraising and proposal writing.
Create and run events along with designated permanent staff member in support of the LRC’s fund development efforts.
Duration of work: is six (6) months with a possibility of renewable for a farther term of six(6)months.
Required Skills or Experience
Master’s degree in Development Studies or related field with five (5) years experience or Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies or related field with a irrinmnim often (10) years of successful fund development and /or development work experience.
The successful candidates should have:
Exceptional writing, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
An understanding of development, poverty and human rights issues.
Extensive experience and contacts in the NGO community including donor cultivation and fund raising plan development and management.
A demonstrated success in grant research, writing and management
Experience of managing major fundraising campaigns and events.
A proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet task deadlines.
Strong work ethics and a sense of teamwork while maintaining a positive self-starting attitude.
