Job Description
By virtue of our growing business needs, we are seeking to recruit high caliber and results-oriented individuals with integrity to partner with a dynamic professional team in our quest to become and remain First in Mine-First in Choice. The successful candidates will be expected to:
- Assist with the development of a reliability based maintenance strategy, based on preventative and predictive maintenance
- Prepare schedules of planned maintenance
- Prepare schedule of parts required for maintenance and confirm availability of the parts
- Liaise with Site Manager and the customer to see that scheduled maintenance is carried out as planned and any unforeseen matters arising during planned maintenance are attended to
- Schedule remedial maintenance including planning for part requirements
- Maintain records of planned and breakdown maintenance carried out and prepare periodic reports of machine availability, MTBF, MTTR and parts consumption
- Prepare maintenance reports as required by Atlas Copco and mine management
- Maintain records of rotation for reparable components
- Maintain records of spare parts and consumables consumption and advice Site Manager, Logistics and customer on stocking requirements and lifetimes
- Take responsibility for purchasing of local parts and consumables required for maintenance, e.g. engine parts, fuel and lubricants
- Maintain records for vehicle maintenance as well as safety records
- Raise customer invoices and stock orders
- Follow up delivery of spare parts to the site
Required Skills or Experience
- A minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive Electrical or Agricultural Engineering
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years post-qualification relevant experience in planning, service administration, or planned maintenance programs. Preference will be given to those who have prior hands on experience on either Atlas Copco equipment, Hatachi/Caterpillar/Komatsu excavators or surface drill rigs
Competency requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings and write detailed repair reports
- Must have good leadership and organisational skills
- A results oriented self starter with passion and drive
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
