The Government of the Republic of Ghana has received a Grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) toward the cost of the Access, Quality Improvement and Retention Enhancement Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant to eligible payments under the contract for the engagement.
Purpose of the job:
To Prepare Construction Costs, Bill of Quantities and Analyze various stages of Construction.
Job Responsibilities:
- To prepare cost plans, estimates, bill of quantities and Bidding Documents prior to floating of bids in line with Public Procurement Act 663
- Preparation of preliminary estimates for projects based cost analysis of completed projects and based on sketch designs prepared by an Architect
- Preparation of Bills of Quantities based on working drawings prepared by an Architect
- Preparation of cost of variation orders arising out of Architect’s instructions issued
- Preparation of fluctuation claims based on market conditions/suing the formula method
- Re-measurement of substructure and other works described as “Provisional” in Bill of Quantities
- To guide and supervise Clerk of Works and technical Staff dealing with project implementation
- To liaise with other Donor Project Managers and other Technical Staff for the preparation of Bidding Documents including drawings and/or supervision of projects
- To submit regular progress rep rots
- Preparation of payment certificates
- Preparation of final accounts
Required Skills or Experience
- Must possess BSc Building Technology from a recognized University
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in the Management and Supervision of Building Projects
- Must be familiar with the use of appropriate Quantity Surveyors Softwares
