Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare exists to promote sustainable employment opportunities, management and vocational skills development, training and re-training, harmonious industrial relations, safe and group formation and social integration of vulnerable, excluded and the disadvantaged for the development and growth of the economy.
Job Description
The Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare (MESW) is implementing a Government of Ghana national initiative to eliminate the worst forms of child labour in the cocoa sector through the National Programme for the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour in Cocoa (NPECLC):
Provide day-to-day administration and the overall leadership and evaluation for the programme
Provide technical advice on implementation activities of the programme
Responsible for the overall coordination of the programme at all levels
Prepare annual programme plan, budget and reports
Set up necessary budgetary control project expenditures and generate financial reports
Mobilize additional funding from all possible sources by undertaking detailed formulation of projects
Monitor all project plans and take corrective actions when necessary to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of project outputs
Ensure that all properties/assets of the project are professionally maintained and protected
Contribute to the international recognition of NPRCLC and promote informed debates
Provide overall supervision and support for the programme implementation
Any other duties assigned
Required Skills or Experience
A good first degree in relevant field
A post graduate qualification in Social Sciences or Development Administration or Agricultural Science in a related field
A PhD in a related field will be an added advantage
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience
Demonstrate experience in Community Development including Right Base Initiatives
Knowledge of the Agricultural Sector with experience in Cocoa Agriculture is desirable
