Job Title 1: Principal Industrial Relations Officer
The National Labour Commission (NLC) established under the Labour Act, 2003, (Act 651) invites suitably qualified persons to occupy the above position.
Department: Industrial Relations
Main Duties:
- Conduct investigations into labour and/or technical disputes and related issues as may be directed
- Participate in the settlement of industrial disputes through facilitation
- Draft Rulings and Agreements on settled cases
- Prepare quarterly periodic reports on various issues that result in labour agitations and disputes
- Co-ordinate the conduct of research into labour issues and other related areas and make recommendations to the Head of Department for consideration
- Attend to enquiries of Facilitation Panels
Salary: The salary level attached to each of the above position is attractive and commensurate to the position.
Required Skills or Experience
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised tertiary institution in Human Resource Management (HRM), Sociology or related field
- A post-graduate qualification in related discipline will be an added advantage
- A minimum of nine (9) years working experience in similar or related field
Additional Requirements:
- Diploma/Certificate in Industrial Relations
- Knowledge and/or Experience in Collective Bargaining
Competencies:
- Application of the Labour Act 2003, (Act 651); Labour Regulations, 1822 & 1833; Workmen’s Compensation Law, 1987 (PNDCL 187); Factories, Offices, and Shops Act 1970, as amended by PNDCL 66 and the Children’s Act 1998 (Act 560)
- Labour Administration
- Computer proficiency
- Research, Analytical and Negotiation skills
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision

Main Duties:
- Maintain and manage the Stores
- Keep proper records of all goods received and issued
- Checks all in-coming consignments to ensure conformity to applicable standards and specifications
- Conduct periodic stock-taking and spot checks on all store items
- Recommend effective ways to improve storage of items

Required Skills or Experience
- A minimum of HND in Purchasing and Supply or relevant field from a recognised tertiary institution
