Job Description

Job Title: Head of Legal Services

Our Client, a leading privately owned Television Broadcasting Company which produces and broadcasts innovative and quality television content to its viewers is looking to recruit seasoned professionals to fill two key roles.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Finance & Administrative Officer, the Head of Legal Services is expected to partner the business by providing legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.

  • Provide legal advice and interpretation of all legislation affecting the conduct of business by the company
  • Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support business activities
  • Manage relationships with external legal service providers and regulatory authorities
  • Monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly
  • Liaise with the appropriate departments to address sponsorship requests  from stakeholders to ensure that appropriate pre-emptive actions are taken to mitigate legal risks
  • Maintain contact with National Labour Commission and Trade Union to discuss and resolve labour issues and advice the Head of Human Resource accordingly

Requirements

  • Must be a member of the Ghana Bar Association and of good standing
  • Minimum of an LLB from a recognized University
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years hands-on corporate legal services experience; media experience is an added advantage
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Must have good leadership and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Must be confident and assertive
