The successful candidate will coordinate and provide support for the Akyem data voice network infrastructure and related IT capacity planning.

• Ensure that all aspects of NGGL voice, data network and facilities are supported and maintained to standards
• Responsible for communications infrastructure maintenance and reliable services for the region
• Coordinate, configure and test network equipment firmwave upgrades
• Maintain and review system logs and network performance as well as coordinating work related to all mine two way and XM radios
• Continually investigate and implements ways to improve the effectiveness of the mine’s communications

Required Skills or Experience

The successful candidate will report to the Geologic Framework Manager, Database Manager and will provide data management to the Exploration Department.

• Update and maintain ‘GED’ drill hole database, ensure consistency of structure and quality control of the data
• Ensure that QA-QC procedures are implemented and followed
• Prepare monthly QA-QC reports
• Liaise with assay laboratories on day to day quality control issues
• Check and validate data to be loaded to the master database

Required Skills or Experience

• A degree or diploma in Geology, Geography or related field
• At least 3-4 years experience in mineral exploration or mining database management
• Demonstrated expertise in use of MS Access, SQL Server or other database systems
• Understanding of basic statistics required
• ESRI ArcGIS Desktop or Mining software knowledge will be plus

The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of environmental monitoring programs in accordance with EPA protocols, internationally accepted protocols, interpret environmental data and produce applicable reports.

• Conduct timely collection and interpretation of environmental high quality monitoring data for water quality, air quality, nose, meteorological and hydrological
• Assist with reports preparation to satisfy corporate, legal and regulatory reporting requirements
• Work closely with the Environmental Compliance team in evaluating, monitoring data performance trends
• Manage and motivate effective team of Junior and Senior environmental staff

Required Skills or Experience

• A degree in Environmental Management, Chemistry or other science related field such as hydrology or engineering
• Minimum of 4 years environmental experience working in a mining or related industrial operations
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Ghanaian Regulations as apply to mining operations
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; fluency in Twi language is advantageous
