1. Senior Metallurgist – Ahafo Operations

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Metallurgist and will focus on efficiency and maintenance of all metallurgical system in the department.

Essential Duties:

  • Coach and train others in the metallurgical functions
  • Supervise and coordinate all activities of the metallurgical laboratory
  • Perform audits on metallurgical practices, correct and implement permanent solutions
  • keep current with mineral processing technology and the practical experiences of other operations

Required Skills or Experience

  • A degree in Extractive Metallurgy with a strong focus on gold processing
  • Minimum of 6 years or more of field experience or equivalent combination of training, experience and understanding of metallurgical processes/methods in a Gold processing plant
  • Exceptionally strong technical skills in project management skills Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to utilized resources available in performing duties
2. Underground Operations Training Superintendent – Ahafo Operations

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Manager Learning and Development (L&D) and will manage, conduct assessment, evaluate and supervise training within critical areas of the Underground orientation of L&D.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage all Underground Training programs and activities
  • Develop staff supporting Underground training programs
  • Approve lesson plans and assess personnel in accordance with the Training Management System
  • Approve staff development needs as identified and make provision for adequate training
  • Supervise Underground training and assessment for all identified staff

Required Skills or Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree with 5 years or 15 years underground mining experience and certificate 4 in training and assessment
  • Extensive practical and technical knowledge of modern gold underground facilities
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Training experience in the Mining Industry
3. Emergency Response Team Captain – Akyem Project

The successful candidate will be responsible for all Direct Emergency Response Team (RRT) Members to provide emergency response capability for Akyem Project which focuses on protecting personnel, assets and community (environment).

Essential Duties:

  • Examine incident scenes, conduct interview, collect and preserve evidence and review forms and reports to help determine the cause of fire or other emergency
  • Receive incoming calls, information and direct all ERT in times of emergency
  • Keep records of all administrative and general information to the SCC/dispatch
  • Direct maneuvering and positioning of apparatus at incident scene
  • Interpret, understand and plan emergency response tasks for the ERT members

Required Skills or Experience

  • A minimum of a Tertiary certificate or Equivalent or Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Must possess Hazmat response, underground mine rescuer firefighter 1 certificate (NFPA) standard certificate
  • Should be able to drive fire tender and operate fire pump
  • Must be in a similar position with at least 3 years’ experience
  • Should have knowledge in GPS and Map Reading

 

4. Administrative Officer

The successful candidate will report to the Site Security Manager and responsible for all the day to day security administrative activities.

Essential Duties:

  • Establish a filing system and procedure
  • Carry out periodic audits of records
  • Code and enter data into various systems as required
  • Prepare Protection and ensure that material is received by Security Department

Required Skills or Experience

  • A certificate in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in office management and ability to work independently and to take initiatives
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office suits including Words, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High level of communication and problem solving skills
  • Good command of English both written and verbal
