Responsible to: Registrar/Chief Executive Officer
Accountable to: Registrar/Chief Executive Officer

Job Purpose:
To provide technical support in the recruitment, motivation and retention of Human of Human Resources in the organisation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Registrar/Chief Executive officer in the management of staff of the Council by providing advice and expertise on human resource issues
  • Co-ordinate recruitment, selection, retention and exit processes to ensure that the Council has the quantity and quality of staff necessary to achieve its strategic goals
  • Assist to design appropriate Human Resource Policies, implement and monitor such policies
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of annual plans and budgets to help achieve the HRM objectives of the Council
  • Assist to develop employee relations programmes (e.g. Awards and recognition events) that promote a positive organisational behaviour
  • Assist to develop, administer and evaluate grievance/dispute resolution and performance improvement policies and procedures
  • Participate in collective bargaining activities including contract negotiation and administration
  • Any other relevant duty that may be assigned by the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer

 

Required Skills or Experience

Advertisement
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum of five (5) years post-qualification experience
  • Two (2) years experience in management position
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Power Point and Access
  • Very good writing and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate experience in human resource administration
  • Strong leadership, management and supervision skills
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to continuously seek quality service and process improvements in order to support the vision and mission of the Council
  • Team player
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a methodological approach to work
  • Ability to take initiative and to influence others positively
