Vacancy: Compliance Analyst – Ahafo Operations & Akyem Project

Job Description

This position requires two people for the Ahafo operations and Akyem Project. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor – Compliance and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) regulation, accounting policies, procedures and controls.

Essential Duties:

Coordinate and administer the monthly SOx Certification for Ghana
Organize the Compliance monthly testing of SOx and non-SOx controls and prepare reports of testing results
Plan and perform audit work relating to compliance reviews
Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures
Coordinate and administer Newmont Ghana’s Internal Audit Management Action Database (IAMAD)

The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are necessarily all inclusive.

Required Skills or Experience

A degree in Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce from a recognized university, plus ACCA level II or level III of CA Ghana
Minimum of 5 years progressive auditing experience in any of the big 4 accounting firms, or with a large mining/manufacturing company in compliance/financial reporting role
Ability to establish priorities, coordinate and monitor own work, and plan along with those of team members
Good understanding of computer systems and accounting software(s)
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Especially in Excel, Word, Power point, Visio)
