1. Senior Petroleum Engineer

Job Description

 

Department: Engineering
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Purpose:
To perform a range of petroleum engineering activities in relation to drilling, reservoir, facilities and production.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Program, follow-up, inspect, supervise, perform, evaluate and control onshore and offshore drilling operations and related services. Prepare programs for the acquisition of new equipment and tools and maintenance of the existing equipment and tools, with the purpose of improving drilling performance.
  • Inspect or supervise the work of drilling activities with information and comments on any variations observed on the performance of the program, recording cost related aspects and recommending corrective steps as the case may be.
  • Maintain updated records of project designs and works executed, as well as classify these project designs for filing purposes.
  • Work in multi-disciplinary team to plan and execute development drilling projects.
  • The reservoir engineer will closely co-operate with the Well Planning Geologists and Reservoir Characterization group in the identification of future production and injection well locations.
  • Utilize reservoir simulation model, together with other appropriate RE tools, to evaluate resource basis and generate production profiles for economic analyses.
  • Schedule and hold necessary meetings and reviews as specified in well planning process.
  • Work with well operations, completions, and economists to provide input to cost estimates and economics.
  • Efficient planning, execution and post evaluation of the development drilling program.
  • Work with petro-physicists to ensure data acquisition objectives for logging, coring, etc. are met and optimized for future development operations.
  • Closely work with completion team to ensure efficient perforation and stimulation of the new wells.
  • Interface with working interest partners, service providers and regulatory agencies Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Engineering Manager

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

Job Holder Entry Requirements:

  • A good Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or its equivalent. MSc. Petroleum Engineering is an advantage. Membership of a relevant professional body is an advantage A minimum of 6+ years of relevant working experience in a related field
  • A practical experience in the upstream petroleum industry is an advantage Have a capacity to work beyond normal working hours and strive under pressure
  • Have a distinct analytical ability as an Engineer Demonstrate working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint Applications Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills

 

2. Staff Geophysicist

Department: Geophysics
Reports to: Geophysics Manager

Purpose:
To perform a range of geophysical duties, to facilitate the achievement of the corporate goals and objectives. In particular, to provide geophysical input for field appraisals development and production operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Undertake the structural and/or stratigraphic interpretation of 2D and 3D onshore/offshore seismic data to generate hydrocarbon leads and prospects To characterize and map reservoir units as input to 3D geomodels Undertake velocity modeling and depth conversions
  • Provide geophysical input in the use of seismic attributes in reservoir characterization for field appraisal and development of discovered fields in Ghana. Interpret geophysical data in terms of rock and fluid properties, Undertake any assigned field operations to include onshore/offshore seismic data acquisition and other geophysical operations involving subordinate staff
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Geophysics Manager.

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

Job Holder Entry Requirements:

  • A minimum of good Bachelor degree in a Geophysics, Physics, Geology with Physics or Earth Science is required. M.Sc. in Exploration Geophysics, Geophysics or Geoscience is desired. Membership of a relevant professional body is an advantage
  • A minimum of 6 + years of working experience in Petroleum Geophysics, preferable with an operator is required Ability to use geophysical workstation software to generate leads and prospects and to characterize reservoir units is essential. Particular skills in the use of The Kingdom package are an advantage.
  • A good understanding of rock physics is required Hands-on experience in the use of seismic attribute in general and AVO in particular for fluid and reservoir characterization is essential.
  • Experience of volumetric estimation would be an advantage Knowledge of petroleum geology is essentialAbility to effectively work in a team of geophysicists, geologists and reservoir and production engineers Knowledge of seismic interpretation pitfalls and basic reservoir engineering fundamentals is essential
  • Analytical and problem solving skills required

 

3. Lead Geologist

Department: Geology
Reports to: Geology Manager

Purpose:
To effectively manage geological operations and evaluations to support the exploration and production activities of the Corporation, in order to meet corporate goals and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and integrate geological and other technical data to provide assessments of prospective, reserves and risks.
  • Generate correlations from well/outcrop data.
  • Create isopach, isolith and facies maps.
  • Generate maps of relevant reservoir parameters.
  • Develop maps of components of the petroleum system.
  • Develop integrated play fairway maps.
  • Make estimates of the ranges of reservoir parameters and prepare reserves estimates.
  • Identify need for third party technical studies, scope and cost and make recommendations for such studies.
  • Interface with contractors carrying out studies to ensure QC and deliverables provided on time
  • Provide geological input to support operational decisions during drilling.
  • Prepare geological input for drilling proposals (Geotechnical Documents)
  • Mentor and train junior staff in geological concepts, analyses, interpretation and evaluation of geological data in order to enhance their knowledge and skills and improve their productivity.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Geology Manager from time to time.

4. Senior Geologist

Job Description

 

Department: Geology
Reports to: Geology Manager

Purpose:
To generate exploration prospects and appraisal evaluations using geological skills; working in a multi-disciplinary teams; interpreting and mapping 2D and 3D Seismic data.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Map and generate prospects and leads
  • Evaluate exploration opportunities in basins to the highest technical standard
  • Assist in the development of appropriate entry strategies for selected opportunities.
  • Liaise with the New Ventures team to identify and recommend potential New Ventures exploration opportunities.
  • Participate in, or lead, on-site technical evaluations.
  • Identify and develop opportunities in priority focus areas using business contacts and competitive business information sources.
  • Consult on other Worldwide Exploration projects and serve on various peer review groups.
  • Develop, maintain and leverage Industry/Professional/Government Agency relationships.

5. Lead Petroleum Engineer

Job Description

 

Department: Engineering
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Purpose:
To lead, manage and supervise petroleum engineering activities with respect to drilling, reservoir facilities and production, to ensure efficient use of resources to meet project timelines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare service manuals, inspection procedures and work routines, including those related to flow and recording of data on project design, with due regard to the consistency of the instruction issued to obtain the highest degree of efficiency.
  • Follow-up the progress of new technologies and methods in onshore and offshore drilling for improvement of the drilling operations and the preparation of specific service and routine manuals.
  • Participate in the negotiation of petroleum agreements of drilling or service contracts supplying information drafts, establishing routines and following up their progress up to final approval by the Board of Directors and their execution.
  • Establish safety rules for drilling operations and related services, and ensure their compliance.
  • As part of the business development team, help screen the numerous acquisition opportunities, direct negotiations with the Corporation’s partners and through pro-active business development efforts.
  • Provide reservoir/petroleum engineering input for investment papers sent to the Board of Directors in respect of potential acquisitions
  • Identify suitable candidates for projects consistent with our client’s strategies, including, but not limited to unmanned platform technology and area developments.
  • Provide ad hoc reservoir/petroleum engineering support to the exploration group.
  • Develop and oversee mechanical integrity programs, modifications and maintenance on all existing facilities.
  • Manage the internal facilities team and monitor activities of external contractors.
  • Communicate project progress, problems, needs and success to fellow teammates and management.
  • Trouble shoot, analyze and solve problems as they arise.
  • Provide the associated cost estimates for the facility portions of all projects.
