Perseus Mining is a duet listed (Australia, Toronto) gold miner and explorer focused on the West African region. Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana. Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 8Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,000oz gold

Job Description

The Senior Industrial Relations Officer will assist the HR & Administration Manager to lead the HR and Administration Department in managing employment condition and related issues.

The responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:-

• Enforce the Mine Regulation Act and Regulation clauses that apply to Industrial relations;
• Develop and implement employee engagement systems and strategies to promote effective communication between management and workers to ensure harmonious industrial climate
• Develop assessment tools for measuring the effectiveness of employee engagement and communication interventions;
• Educate workers regularly on company policies and procedures and workers’ Collective Agreements;
• Educate managers and supervisors on company policies and procedures as well as provisions in Collective Agreements relating to employee disciplinary issues;
• Participate in employee disciplinary process and grievance handling

Required Skills or Experience

• The successful applicant must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Relations or Social Sciences with at least 5 years experience in similar position, considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of good industrial relations, labour law, labour regulations and policies
