An International NGO is seeking to recruit Project Accountants who will ensure proper financial documentation, accurate records keeping at all times of all NTD finances. The project accountants would work closely with the Ghana Health Service staff but have a reporting responsibility to the Grants Manager of the Agency based in Accra.The ideal candidates will be based in both Tamale and Accra.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Recording
- Responsible for collating the expenses of all NTD offices for analysis and submission to the Agency in a timely fashion
- Responsible for the proper codification of all transactions relating to the NTD Project
- Filing of all receipts and disbursement vouchers
Analysis
- Responsible for generation of unpaid cash balances on employee travel advance accounts for collection.
- Review cash request from NTD/GHS and submits to the company for payment
- Analyze balance of NTD Project advances and ensure their timely liquidation
- Maintains and enhance internal control procedures at the operational level
Others
- Management of voucher and stationery stocks for finance unit.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by supervisor or finance Manager
- Establish checks and balances on the financial transactions
Qualifications& Requirement:
- Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or HND in Accounting or Part II of ACCA, ICA, CIMA or other equivalent professional qualification with two years’ post qualification experience in a similar position
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in NGO accounting or Donor funding environment would be an added advantage
- Must be ready to travel about 40% of his/her time to collate financial information from NTD offices across the country
- Previous experience in USG regulations is required
- Proven knowledge of standard software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Knowledge in accounting software would be added advantage
