Job Description
Duration of Initial Contract: 1 year (One year renewable)
UNDP is providing assistance to the Government of Ghana to implement a project titled “Integrating climate change into the management of priority health risks in Ghana:. The Proposed project will develop systems and response mechanisms to strengthen the integration of climate change risks into the health sector.
Duties:
The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Plan the activities of the project and monitor progress against the initial quality criteria
- Technical oversight for all project activities, ensuring activities and their outputs are technically robust, both in terms of climate change and health issues
- Act as a focal point for issues relating to the relationship between climate change and health, thereby ensuring that the project deliverables are cutting edge
- Mobilize goods and services to initiative activities including drafting TORs and work specifications;
- Working experience at district level especially in the health sector is an advantage
Remuneration: In accordance with UN Guidelines
Required Skills or Experience
- An Advanced degree in, environmental/social/health science or relevant field with at least 7 years of proven professional experience. Excellent knowledge of climate change and adaptation and experience of working at the policy level
- Demonstrated track record of project management; Excellent skills in standard software (Word processing, spreadsheets) Experience in the development/implementation of donor funded projects is an asset and knowledge and experience of the health sector would be advantageous
- Fluency in both oral and written English

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with analytic capacity and the ability to synthesise project outcomes and relevant findings into quality papers and reports, intended for a range of different audiences;
- Shares knowledge and experience actively, mentors project staff
- Capacity to produce high quality communication and outreach materials to inform stakeholders and project partners;
